Radiesse is a biostimulant filler that promotes the production of the body’s own collagen and elastin over a period of several months. Radiesse fillers can add volume to treatment areas, and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps improve the skin quality overlying the injection area.
Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa). After it is injected it simulates the production of natural collagen by the body as well as creates immediate contouring. This creates volume that acts to improve the signs of aging and strengthens the skin.
It acts as a scaffold under the skin, stimulating and providing a structure where your own natural collagen can grow. This process continues for several months, extending the initial effects of Radiesse. Best of all, the natural-looking results are clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients.
Fillers are injected with either a fine needle or a cannula.
Needles have a sharp tip, and generally has more precision and is most commonly used for the lips.
Cannulas are a long and flexible blunt tip tube. It is dull and cannot puncture the skin on its own.
After your consult the injection technique is dependent on safety, location of treatment and preference for the treated areas.
